There’s some people on Tumblr I really wish had commenting on their Tumble Blogs. (Maybe go use disqus to add commenting like so many other Tumblrs do.) Because there’s times where I’d like to comment on what people post.

That’s one of the complaints I actually have about Tumblr. Having a conversation isn’t easy. Don’t get me wrong, I love Tumblr. It does so many things right! But making it a little easier to have conversations would take Tumblr to another (better) level.

Actually, continuing the theme of this post (of what Tumblr needs), it would also be nice if Tumblr let you create poll posts and let you create quiz posts.

Tumblr needs a way of doing definitions. In the same way you can create text, photo, quote, link, chat, audio, and video posts. There should be a way of creating definition posts too. (I.e., being able to define words or phrases.)

(If would have been useful for this post.)

I’ve realized that a good way to find good people to follow on Tumblr is to look at the “notes” for posts (from others) you like, and see if anyone on there is interesting enough to follow.

One of the ways I find interesting people to follow (andI suspect others do the same) is by looking to see who the people I follow, follow. Many people display, for everyone to see, the list of people they follow. (Including me.) But some don’t. To those people who don’t, please consider showing the list of people you follow.

Tumblr doesn’t have a commenting system.  (Which is why I use disqus to put commenting on this Tumble Blog.)  However, while looking at other Tumble Blogs I’ve been seeing cases where there’s somethiing that looks a bit like a native Tumblr commenting system.

It’s not quite a fullblown commenting system. But something kind of like it.  One of the first thing that  came to mind were, “how do I do that”.  I did a little Google searching, and came across this article which talks about how to do it.  (Give it a read to find out how to do it for yourself.)

For a while now, a popular hash tags with libertarians on twitter has been #TLOT.  It stands for “top libertarians on twitter”.

(#TLOT is actually a copy of the #TCOT hash tag, which stands for “top conservatives on twitter”.  Basically, #TLOT is the libertarian version of the #TCOT hash tag.)

One thing that should not be too difficult for most to see is that the TLOT initialization works with Tumblr too… “top libertarians on tumblr” :-)

Tumblr search even has results for #TLOT.  Also, in addition to this, I’ve found that some tumblrs has added their tumble blogs to the Tumblr libertarian directory.

I have miixed feelings about this.  I hate being <frame>’d like that.

Tumblr is testing out a new application, similar to Stumbleupon, only it “stumbles” through Tumblogs. Try it out here:

TumblUpon

As a note, tumblr’s founder David Karp says the name isn’t permanent, and is probably meant to be somewhat ironic…..
